In the bustling town of Malacca, there is a gem where you can relax and jump into the traditional ambiance of Malacca. As its name suggests, The Settlement Hotel showcases the beauty of this historical city and offers a memorable hospitality for their guests. So, in this article, I want to share my sincere review about The Settlement Melaka.
We always heard that there is no better place than your own country and I really agreed about that. So, this time I join my friends to wander around my own country. It’s fun to hangouts and sees the development, the historical place and of course to eat all the delicious food in every state that I went to.
Malacca is one of my favorite states in Malaysia. Just 1 hour by bus from Kuala Lumpur, this state definitely has a different vibe than Kuala Lumpur. The historical building, the Baba Nyonya culture, the people really make tourists from Malaysia or foreigner in love and want to extend their time here.
The Settlement has won tons of awards, including the all-important Malaysia Tourism Awarded The Settlement Hotel Best Hotel 4-Star (City) 2016/17 . As soon as you walk in the door, you’ll know why this place is so beloved. This place offers a unique decoration of traditional Malacca concept, warm hospitality and completes facilities.
Located at Jalan Ujong Pasir, The Settlement Hotel is just around 800 meters from the Jonker Street. It is so easy to go to the town as you can find a lot of Grabcar in Melaka and it only cost around RM5 to go to the town. The Settlement Hotel was once a 4 story government building and now refurbished to this 4 star boutique hotel.
Lobby & Check In
As I arrived at this hotel, the check-in process was so easy and the staff is really helpful. I like the concept of the hotel lobby which it really makes me feels like home. In the entrance, I can see the pink bougainvillea, a garden, swing chair and the most interesting is the 350 years old Sultan Bed! Well, the Sultan Bed was so comfy and unique which whenever I’m waiting for my Grabcar, I will definitely stay there!
The settlement has 45 rooms and 4 villas. I stayed at Deluxe Room queen in the first floor. On the way to my room, I can sweet sweet aromas at the hotel hallway (and I really love it) but I forgot to ask the staff about the fragrance. All the rooms were equipped with tea/coffee, a bar fridge, mineral water, a desk, flat screen and bathroom. I really love my room because it was so comfortable and quiet. Even though the hotel was at almost full-capacity but I never heard another guest!
The bathroom and the bedroom is divided with a see-through glass, So I can definitely soak inside the bathtub while watching TV!
As the bathtub is so cool, me and my friend decide to have some sort like a photoshoot here. We filled up the bathtub, put some bomb bath and look for some flowers and leaf. So, this is the result of our photoshoot!
The stunning swimming pool
The best thing that I did during my stay here is swims in such a stunning pool. I love the mixture of colors around the swimming pool which is the spa with the wooden color, green leaf, pink bougainvillea and blue pool. The pool open from 7 is until 10 pm.
The breakfast in The settlement starts as early from 6 am. During my last day here, I have to check out early as I have to catch for my bus. The staffs are so kind to help me with my breakfast. The breakfast here is simple but all of it is so delicious. The best thing about having breakfast in The Settlement is too enjoy the meal while looking at the green garden.
Overall, I really enjoy my stay here. I really wish that I can stay more days and try their SPA as from outside, you can already smells lemongrass mixed with the Pandan fragrance. If you wish to try stay here, below here are some information about it!
